Brass Moon and Sterling Silver Star Stud Earrings
These little earrings seem simple but they take a lot of work to create! Each moon and star starts as brass and sterling silver scrap which I recycle by melting into a ball with my jeweler's torch. I then hammer each ball onto a shot plate which has crescent moon and star shapes engraved into the surface. After I have hammered each ball into a rough moon or star shape, I then saw and sand off the excess brass and silver, leaving a beautiful tiny crescent moon and star. After the moons and stars are fully shaped I solder the sterling silver posts onto the backs, then the earrings head into a tumbler full of steel shot to work harden them.
These earrings come with sterling silver tension earring backs to hold them securely in place
Each set is made to order so every pair will be unique and may differ slightly from the pair pictured
